Bush today defended his remarks of a year ago when he said "MIssion Accomplished". (Well, he didn't say it the Navy did, oh wait, we told them to make the sign, but we didn't put it up...idiots) TOday, he says we're "Making progress". What exactly does that mean? I guess every morning that I wake up I'm "making progress", but if 12 months after you take over the country you have the WORST loss of life since the begining of the conflict, you hardly have PROGRESS.
More Iraqis hate us, Bush still has no plan to hand power over to a Player to be Named Later, Polls show most Iraqis see us as occupiers, and Rummy's still shocked that Americans weren't greated like we were in Paris in 1945. Progress my arse.
Bush started this mess, but the GOP keeps waiting for Kerry to come up with his plan. Those of us that opposed the war on the grounds that 1- iraq was no threat 2- Iraqi's should take care of themselves 3- there are other ways of regime change besides invasion and 4- Iraq was going to be a disaster after we took it over don't have to come up with ANY answers. Bush had the plan, he needs to finish the job and stop pretending we're (Americans) safer and stop imagining that having 100 Soldiers killed in a month is "Progress".
